Fluxx: The Board Game
Designer: Andrew Looney
Official Score: 9/10
Thanks to our affiliation with 2d6 I have had the distinct pleasure to review Fluxx: The Board Game, and honestly all my previous expectations were completely blown away. I had thought Looney Labs were going to provide a mediocre experience in the re-imagining of Fluxx – the card game where all the rules can and will change. Much to my surprise Fluxx: The Board Game offers something I feel Fluxx has lacked, a sense of accomplishment. Don’t get me wrong Fluxx is great for what it is, but believe me Fluxx: The Board Game is just better.
The game itself is played by moving your pieces along a board constructed out of tiles. These tiles hold squares that contain images which in turn you can complete the goals. Much like it’s predecessor anything and everything in Fluxx: The Board Game will change. Familiar rules are brought back into the equation such as number of cards you draw, play, and a hand limit every turn. A new movement mechanic is added due to the pieces, as well as three special movement tiers which allow the players themselves additional opportunities to change the layout of the board. What makes this game great is the fact that it will be easy for everyone to pick up and is insanely re-playable. It is going to provide a rewarding experience for your family or play group filled with strategy, fun, and good times.
We officially score this game 9/10 and highly recommend you get it on your table as soon as possible.
Thanks and Game On!
